“Ramadan Mubarak”/ “Blessed Ramadan”
In the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is an important date and one of the five pillars of Islam along with the Muslim declaration of faith, daily prayer, charity, and the pilgrimage in Mecca. From sunrise to sunset, Muslims fast for 30 days and combine this with intense prayer. Ramadan is a time to detach from pleasure and practice self-restraint. The dates change every year, and it’s determined by the placement of the moon. This year Ramadan started the evening of May 5th.
