Let’s acknowledge it: Floridians love springs so badly. Springs are like beaches for islanders. Also, tourists in Florida are drawn by the beautiful images that circulate through social media. But besides the passion for springs the question we all must answer Are we patient enough to wait long hours in line if the park reaches capacity?
Silver Glen Springs is beautiful, along with Rock Springs, and others. The truth is that I waited 5 hours in the car to enter Silver Glen Springs.
It was a Sunday. I got there at 8:45 am (the park opens at 8:00 am), and there was a long line. I decided to wait patiently. I knew that I would be waiting for a while, but I did not know that I’d be in the car line for 5 hours.
Silver Glen tested my patience that day, and to be honest I wasn’t really upset. I was in a very good mood that day, and my daughter did not complain, which helped a lot. I bet that if I had gone there with my mom, she would only waited about 15 minutes in line, and that might have been too much for her. After one hour of waiting, I said to my daughter: “If we leave, we will waste one hour of our day”. Two hours later, I repeated the same thing: “If we leave, we will waste 2 hours of our day”. I said the same, 3, 4, and 5 hours later. I saw people waiting there for four hours and just getting so upset that they just turned around and left.
Yes! springs in Florida are beautiful, but in the same proportion, they are busy.
We entered the springs hungry and dehydrated, but it was worth it. Would I do it again? Mmm, Idk…
Are you willing to wait so long to enter? If you do not like to wait, you could wake up very early and be one of the first arriving or you can visit the park during weekdays. What’s the longest you’ve waited to enter a spring?
